Hisar university teachers threaten fast unto death

Teachers of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology here have threatened to go on fast unto death from tomorrow against alleged poor and biased administration of the institute.

The teachers will go on fast unto death from tomorrow, president of Guru Jambheshwar University Teachers Association (GJUTA) Anil Kumar Bhankhar said on Sunday.

He said the teachers are raising their voice to uphold the academic and research environment of the university which is “deteriorating” day by day owing to “poor and biased” administration and “lack of concern”.

He alleged that recently the university recruited more than 50 teachers and majority of them do not even have chairs to sit, leave aside proper lab and chambers.

Moreover, the university administration is harassing teachers in the name of self-financing, he alleged.
