Heroin, hashish worth Rs 35L recovered, 3 peddlers held

Three persons have been arrested in two separate operations by the narcotics wing of Delhi Police Crime Branch and recovered hashish and heroin worth around Rs 35 lakh in the international market, police said on Saturday.

In the first operation, the police got a tip-off that two persons, who allegedly smuggled hashish from Uttarakhand, would come to deliver a consignment on the Wazirabad Road and a trap was laid accordingly, they said. Police arrested Dinesh Kumar (30) and Vinod Kumar (42) and recovered around five Kg of hashish, worth around Rs 25 lakh in international market, from their possession, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav. In the second operation, police arrested Mustaq Ahmad (32), a heroin peddler who smuggled the drug from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, from near Anand Vihar ISBT.
