Heman Soren set to take oath as CM of Jharkhand today, Cong announces coalition

As Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren is set to take oath as the ninth chief minister of the state here on Saturday, political parties have announced their plans to observe the occasion in separate ways. The JMM has announced to celebrate the occasion as ‘Adhikaar Divas’ or entitlement day.

‘The state will get a democratic government Saturday. The JMM will lead the government and Hemant Soren will fulfil the dreams of the people of the state,’ JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattachaya told reporters here Friday. Supriyo added that his party would celebrate the occasion as ‘Adhikaar Divas’ in all the blocks across the state.

The Congress on Friday officially announced to join the government-in-waiting in Jharkhand, a senior Congress leader said.

PCC President Sukdhdeo Bhagat announced that Congress Legislature Party leader Rajendra Prasad Singh would take oath as a minister in the event of Governor Syed Ahmed inviting JMM leader Hemant Soren to take oath as the chief minister on Saturday, PCC spokesman Sailesh Kumar Sinha told reporters here.
