On the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev birthday on 27 November, a procession (nagar kirtan) will start at 10 am from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Parade Ground and terminate at Gurdwara Nanak Piao Sahib in GT Karnal road. The procession would go through Cycle market, Chandni chowk, Parade ground, Esplanade road,  Fatehpuri, Khari Baoli Chowk, Qutub road,  Azad market , Roshanara road, Rani Jhansi road,  Shakti Nagar, Rana Pratap Bagh and GT road. ‘The head of procession is expected to reach Gurdwara Nanak Piao at about 6 pm and its tail (Swari Sahib) would be reaching there at about midnight,’ said a traffic police official. Delhi Traffic police has advised public to avoid Rani Jhansi road in the evening for movement from north Delhi to central and New Delhi and vice versa. ‘City buses will be diverted from Rani Jhansi road, Roshanara road and GTK road from 2 pm onwards depending on the position of the procession. GT road from Shakti Nagar chowk to Ashok Vihar ‘T’ point will remain congested from 8 pm to midnight, in view of heavy confluence of devotees and dispersal of procession,’ said a traffic official. ‘People riding four-wheelers are advised to avoid Shakti Nagar chowk, GT road and use Ring road, Ashok Vihar road and Swami Narayan marg as an alternative passage. Motorists are advised to follow the directions given by the traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement and to minimize traffic congestion and disruption,’ said Satyendra Garg, Joint Commissioner, Traffic.
