Heat wave claims Canning resident

Sabiuddin Mollah (58), a resident of Canning in South 24-Parganas died after suffering a heat stroke. The victim came to Canning Hospital on Monday morning to visit a doctor in the outdoor department of the hospital.

When Mollah was standing in the queue for collecting ticket he suffered a stroke. After he fell on the ground the victim was rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead. Doctors said that the patient suffered sunstroke in the excessive heat. It may be mentioned that during this season of summer more than 7 persons have died so far due to excessive heat in the state so far.

Monday’s weather was hot and humid with the temperature of the city and its adjoining areas standing around 40 degree Celsius. The Alipore Meteorological department has predicted that some South Bengal districts will receive rainfall in next couple of days.
