HC asks WB JEE Board to publish names, marks of first 4,000 rankers

The Calcutta High Court on Friday directed the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board to publish the names and marks obtained by first 4,000 rankers in the 2016 medical entrance test. A division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Girish Gupta and Justice Arindam Sinha directed the board to publish within 10 days the names along with their roll numbers, marks obtained in the examination and rankings. The order came on a petition claiming that there were irregularities in the names which appeared in the list of successful candidates in the 2016 medical joint entrance examination in West Bengal. The board denied any wrongdoing by anybody and claimed that there was total transparency in the selection process. Following this, the court directed the board to publish the names of those students who ranked upto 4,000 in this year’s state medical joint entrance test.
