Haryana minister reviews water supply augmentation schemes

Haryana’s public health engineering minister Kiran Choudhary reviewed the progress of water supply augmentation schemes of the state in first quarter, at a meeting held at Haryana Bhawan here on Monday. It was informed in the meeting that out of the budget of 2013-14 allotted for the department, 19 per cent has been spent in the first quarter.

During the year, target of water supply augmentation schemes has been fixed for 855 villages, out of which the target has been achieved in 34 villages during first quarter. Choudhary gave instructions for expediting the work and fixed the targets for next quarters for the superintending engineers. The minister said that water supply augmentation schemes for Bhiwani and Mahendergarh districts should also be prepared.
