Haryana govt to provide facility for online electricity bill payment

Haryana power distribution corporations namely the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam will shortly provide the facility of online electricity bill payment also to the consumers of agriculture and industrial categories as the process for the same has already been initiated.

This was revealed in by power minister Haryana, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav who was reviewing the functioning of   Haryana Power Utilities with senior officers here on Tuesday. He said that Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system would be started in the State to overcome the incorrect meter reading problem.  The Discoms will shift the electricity meters outside the consumer premises in urban as well as rural areas. After shifting of meters in pillar boxes in villages, electricity will be supplied to the consumers round-the-clock. It will also help reduce aggregate technical and commercial losses. The Discoms have been directed to change high tension   cable as per necessity.

It was observed in the meeting that the Discoms have released 1816 new tubewell connections during May, 2013. The DHBVN plans to release   4126 pending tubewell connections by the end of November, 2013. The UHBVN will release 10,642 pending tubewell connections by March 2014.
