Haryana govt chargesheets Ashok Khemka

On the day the assembly elections to the four states of the Hindi heartland concluded, the Congress-led Haryana government decided to crack the whip on the officer who blew the whistle on Robert Vadra’s land deals with realty major DLF. Vadra is son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

According to an agency report from Chandigarh, tightening the noose around whistleblower IAS officer Ashok Khemka, the Haryana government has charge-sheeted him in connection with cancellation of the mutation of a land deal between Vadra and real estate major DLF in Gurgaon in October last year. The charge sheet was delivered to Khemka in his absence at his residence on Wednesday and the IAS officer has been given a fortnight to reply, official sources said on Thursday.

Khemka, who is at present secretary to Haryana government’s archives department is reported to have said that he would respond to the charges soon. The sources said that the seven-page charge sheet mainly dealt with the issue of alleged administrative misconduct and damage caused to the reputation of Vadra and realty giant DLF.
