Half-burnt body of unidentified woman found in Ambedkar Nagar

A half-burnt body of an unidentified woman in her early twenties was recovered from a park in south-east Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar area on Tuesday. The police are not ruling out rape possibility with the victim.

According to the cops, a call at the police control room was received at about 4 pm informing that a body of a woman is lying in Jahapana park near BRT Corridor. Immediately, a police team reached the spot and found a body that was half-burnt lying in the bushes in the park. Her body was kept in the mortuary and all the police stations have been instructed to scan the missing complaints of the woman.

“The CCTV footages of the nearby area are being looked at to get a clue about the culprit who has dumped the body in the park. In the initial probe, the circumstantial evidences suggest that she was killed and burnt somewhere else and later dumped in the park,” the official said.

A case under the section of murder has been registered at Ambedkar Nagar police station and investigation is underway.
