Guv stands by ex V-C’s comment on student agitation

Marjit, who has left his position of Vice -Chancellor of the university, had recently advised the students to end their agitation programme which creates immense problems for the teachers and students willing attend classes.

He also said that these type of activities bring no solution to the real problems of students and but only create harassment in the campus.

Marjit who vacated the post on Thursday, had been appointed as V-C of CU on July 14, 2015. He made those remarks towards the students, while giving up the post. His ending remark was much discussed among the students’ union.

On Saturday, Tripathi said that Marjit was right in his opinion towards the students. “Sugata Marjit was correct. Students should think over his opinion,” said the Governor.
