Gurugram hosts first Pravasi Haryanvi Divas

After hosting the grand event of 50th anniversary of Haryana on November 1, Gurugram was again chosen as the destination for the two-day mega event of Pravasi Haryanvi Divas (NRI Haryanvi event).

The two-day event from January 10 to 11 is being organised at the Kingdom of Dreams in Sector 29, Gurugram. This is the first time that such an event is been organised in the state. Around 400 Haryanvi NRIs from 33 countries have come to the event.

In addition to the NRIs, all famous personalities from Haryana have also been invited to the event.

On Tuesday, Haryanvi celebrities like Kapil Dev, Deepa Malik, Akhil Kumar and Joginder Sharma were felicitated at the event. The Haryana government which has used the motto of Connected By Roots, United By Vision hopes to bring massive investments from the NRIs to the state through the event.  

The event commenced on Tuesday evening. Among the dignitaries who were present on the opening day were Union Power Minister Piyush Goel, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and various other important ministers and officials from the state.

“Haryana as well as Gurugram have progressed rapidly over the years. While the largest automobile manufacturer has its base in Gurugram, there is also going to be an Indian Solar alliance headquarters to be set up in Gurugram,” said Union Minister for new and renewable energy Piyush Goyal.

“There is a huge scope of development for Gurugram as well as Haryana in the future. Such events can prove to be a useful platform for all the Haryanvis to come together and cooperate with the Government agencies towards the development of the state,” Goel further added.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar highlighted that the Government now wished to organise more such events in the future to engage with its diaspora.
