Grooving to Korean pop

Korean Cultural Centre, announced the globally popular music phenomenon, K-POP 2015 Concert Tour in India. With the collaboration of JU Entertainment and all the festival organizers in three regions of India, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Guwahati, the upcoming edition of K-POP Concert Tour will be the first of its kind in the country. There will be  a fan signing meet and performance in the national capital on January 31 at the Korean Cultural Centre.

K-POP is the popular music genre from South Korea, consisting of dance-pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc. The K-POP musical movement started in Korea in 1990s and has swept the world through the ‘Korean Wave’. Today, K-POP has entrenched itself as a bona fide phenomenon in Asia and is rapidly extending its reach to new markets.

One of Korea’s new and upcoming K-POP bands, N-Sonic had attended the K-POP Audition held in India last year as judges and their presence had created a buzz like none other. Announcing the concerts, Kim Kum-pyoung, Director, Korean Cultural Center, said, “On the cultural front, K-POP as a juggernaut of Korean soft-power is something we were very keen on introducing in India. What better place to unveil the first ever K-Pop concert than at cultural fests of the top schools of India.”
