Grey’s Anatomy creator developing nun drama

Shonda Rhimes, the creator of medical drama TV series Grey’s Anatomy, and Betsy Beers’ production company ShondaLand has set up an untitled ensemble drama about Catholic nuns for ABC.

The drama has been penned by Alison Schapker of Fringe fame and promises to “throw into question everything you think you know about the ‘brides of Christ’,” reported Entertainment Weekly.

The project chronicles the story of a group of nuns fighting the closure of their Bronx <g data-gr-id="14">convent,</g> while also dealing with three young novices, whose arrival brings up old secrets. Schapker’s TV credits <g data-gr-id="13">includes</g> Alias, Brothers & Sisters, Lost, The Flash” and Almost Human. Shondaland recently sold the comedy Splitsville to ABC, and has previously brought hit dramas such <g data-gr-id="12">as,</g> Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder to the screen.
