Green Channel, GST to attract UK investments

The government needs to hasten various policy and regulatory reforms like right compensation for land acquisition, liberalisation of FDI in multi-brand retail, implementation of Good & Service Tax (GST) and ‘Green Channelling’ for agri produce to push India-UK collaborations and investments in food supply sector where huge opportunities and potential remain to tapped fully, reveals a report.

A report on ‘India-UK Collaborations and Investments in Food Supply Chain: Opportunities, Concerns and the Way Forward,’ was released here on Monday. The Report was jointly released by former Agriculture secretary Siraj Hussain, First Secretary (UKT&I) British High Commission Anthony Cooper, Additional Secretary Dept of Commerce JK Dadoo, Director D&B Tangram Advisory Services Priyaa Gurnani and authors of the report Partner D&B Dipankar De, consultant ICRIER Tanu Goyal  and Arpita Mukherjee professor ICRIER were present on the occasion.
