‘Govt’s priority is to present Yamuna as Delhi’s identity’

Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra on Friday said AAP government’s priority is to present Yamuna as an identity of Delhi at national and international level.

Apart from this, the objective of hosting the championship was also to give a chance to those who have interest in Canoe Sprint, Mishra said while inaugurating the three-day long first Canoe Sprint 

Championship organised by Canoeing and Kayaking Association and Delhi Tourism at Wazirabad water sports club, Sonia Vihar.

“The objective of organising the championship was not only to give a chance to those who have interest in this sport, but to bring back people of Delhi to banks of Yamuna. Our priority is to present Yamuna as an identity of Delhi at national and international level,” he said.

Apart from others, the officials of BSP, CRPF and Indian Navy participated in the championship, and the Sonia Vihar team performed the best, a release said.
