Govt to open business club in New Town

It is for the first time that the state government is opening a business club at an affordable price, which will provide all facilities commonly available at other clubs in the city. The project has received an overwhelming response.

With New Town growing at a fast pace, it was felt that a business club should be set up where people could go for recreation along with their family. The club is coming up close to Home Town.

Cleanliness will be the USP of the club. The club will also be a vital effort by the government to provide entertainment and recreation to the residents of the city.

The membership fee will be Rs 30,000 for three years. There are two swimming pools, tennis and badminton courts and table tennis and snooker tables as well.

A separate place to play darts will be available too. An art gymnasium and meditation room will also be set up and Café Ekante will open its outlet at the club.

The colour of the walls and the ambience of the club have been planned in such a way that it provides a soothing effect to its guests. Members can come with their spouses and children to enjoy the facilities in the club.

The swimming pool has already become very popular in the area and people from nearby areas, like Chinar Park, have started visiting the place. In order to use the swimming pool, a person has to pay Rs 2,000 for six months.

In addition to business activities, New Town is also thriving as a cultural hub where cultural programmes are held regularly.

Apart from the residents of New Town, people from Salt Lake, Lake Town and its neighbourhood and even from Madhyamgram and Barasat often visit the place to attend cultural shows.
