Upset with chronic failures, the West Bengal government has decided to remove the Managing Director, Susanto Das, from WBREDA and has appointed Santanu Bose to head the organisation in addition to his other charge of WBPDCL.

Susanto Das is the Managing Director of WBSETCL who is due to retire in the month of August 2016. According to sources, the state government is in no mood to give him an extension in that position too.

Several contracts of transmission corporation are coming under close scrutiny of state government and investigation against various irregularities are likely to be ordered soon. Awarding contract to a company called Jyoti Structures will also be examined.

The West Bengal government is getting instructions from Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, and is all set to put solar rooftop panel in all the government buildings and launching this programme in the name of Alosri.

All the secretaries and District Magistrates have been instructed to identify all government and semi government office buildings and year mark shadow-free area where the panels will be put.

This project would be implemented with the Central Government and some central empanelled PSUs will give possible assistance. The state government is going to invite tenders and with a fixed rate all the vendors would be instructed to put the roof top panels both at the city and district level.
