Govt staffer kills self

A 50-year-old Class IV employee allegedly committed suicide in Planning Commission office on Tuesday morning apparently depressed over his daughter’s illness, police said. The incident was reported from Yojana Bhavan at around 9.30 am. The victim, identified as Kanhaiya Lal, was found hanging from the ceiling. Lal used to stay in Pushp Vihar area.
A suicide note was recovered from his possession in which he had mentioned about his daughter’s prolonged illness and his financial problems. Lal is survived by his wife and four children.
