Govt sincerely fulfilling promises, says Akhilesh

Lucknow: Claiming his party's sincerity in fulfilling promises made in its election manifesto, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said his party was executing its commitments without any discrimination.

‘Nothing is as important than election manifesto in a democratic country and my government is committed to fulfill the same in letter and spirit,' Yadav said while distributing laptops to 13, 720 students who have passed their class XII examinations.

The SP government is distributing laptops, unemployment allowance to the youth and Kanya Vidhyadhan for poor girls as per its promises in the manifesto during the Assembly polls, the CM asserted. The SP government has also waived of the loans of farmers upto Rs 50,000 without any discrimination, the CM added.

Akhilesh Yadav blamed the previous BSP government for power crisis in the state.

‘Mayawati government did nothing to enhance power production and minimise the gap between the power supply and demand,’ he stated.

The power department was facing a loss of Rs 25,000 crore, when SP took over the charge of the state.
