Govt moves to ease traffic in Mehrauli

Wednesday decided to appoint a consultant to complete the spadework for the construction of two proposed elevated roads in Mehrauli to ease the traffic movement in the area.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shiela Diskhit. The  issue of easing congestion and avoiding long traffic jams in Mehrauli was discussed in the meeting.

The government is mulling over the construction of two separate roads from Mehrauli Bus Terminus to MB Road near Anuvrat Marg Ahimsa Sthal with a length of 1.2 km and from Shahi Idgah to Arun Asaf Ali Marg through Sanjay Van with a length of 1 km.

Dikshit while taking note of the difficulties being faced by the residents and tourists in the area, stressed upon the need to provide better connectivity through elevated roads, widened surface roads and underpasses.  
The government was decided to appoint a consultant to complete spadework at the earliest in order to enable the government to move towards the construction of the two roads.
