Govt grants Mini Ratna status to NBCC

The Government of India has granted Mini Ratna status under category-I to NBCC, the state owned CPSU, under the Ministry of Urban Development, government of India.
A communiqué to this effect, has been issued by the Ministry of Urban Development, on 18 September, 2012. It may be mentioned here that NBCC, established in 1960, is presently a Schedule ‘A’ Civil Engineering Company, operating globally and has been executing projects of diversified nature under three primary segments such as Project Management Consultancy, Civil Infrastructure for Power Sector and Real Estate Development and Construction.
The company is also working as a major implementing agency of the government of India, operating extensively in the North Eastern Region (NER) of the country since 2001, executing various infrastructure development projects initiated by the Government under NER Development Scheme.
