Govt for exemption in entry, unloading fee on trucks till November 24

With transporters and traders facing shortage of cash due to demonetisation of Rs 500/1000 currency notes, the Delhi government on Friday decided to exempt entry and unloading fee till November 24 for vehicles coming to the city’s wholesale fruits and vegetable markets.

Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai said a file in this regard has been sent to LG Najeeb Jung to seek his approval to implement the government’s decision.

“Delhi government has decided to exempt entry n unloading fee for vehicles coming to mandis till November 24. File sent to LG,” Rai tweeted. The Arvind Kejriwal government had on Thursday also decided to move the court seeking exemption of “green tax” levied on trucks entering in Delhi till December 31, as transporters were facing cash-crunch after demonetisation of high value banknotes
