Govt committed to provide clean water in schools:CM

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday exhorted school children to take lead in water conservation at a function organised at N P Girls Secondary School to inaugurate an initiative of a leading company to install water purifiers in 50 government schools across Delhi. Delhi Education Minister Kiran Walia, NDMC Chairperson Archana Arora and President, Panasonic India Daizo Ito were also present on the occasion.

Dikshit said in order to safeguard school children from water-borne diseases, it is necessary to make arrangements for  safe drinking water. The initiative will go a long way in ensuring health of school children. She appreciated the effort of Panasonic as it has committed to donate 200 such purifiers.
