Govt asks Indians not to travel to Yemen under any circumstance

India on Friday strongly advised its nationals to avoid travelling in “any circumstances, by any means, for any purpose” to war-torn Yemen, where an Indian nun has been killed and a priest abducted in recent attacks.

Asserting that the security situation in Yemen continues to remain fragile, the External Affairs Ministry in its advisory said, “In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Aden, which resulted in the killing of an Indian nun and abduction of one priest, Indian nationals are again strongly advised to avoid travelling to Yemen under any circumstances by any means for any purpose till further notice.”

The ministry added it had already issued a number of advisories, wherein Indian nationals have been advised to refrain from undertaking travel to Yemen in view of the precarious security situation in the country.
