Government committed to develop all parts of Delhi roads: PWD minister

Delhi PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan on Sunday stated that the Delhi is all set to have a network of smooth, strengthen and improved roads. Government officials said that the capital city have been facing difficulties due to neglect of proper maintenance of roads by the MCDs. Chauhan on Sunday initiated second phase of development work of 98 roads which have been transferred by the MCDs.

Earlier, strengthening work of 107 roads has already started in the first phase in the month of October 2012.

About 674 roads of 800 km length were transferred to PWD. Conditions of many of these roads were bad to such an extent that these were not even motorable. Chauhan addressed the gathering during the inauguration of development works of roads at Surajmal Vihar, east Delhi.
