Goodricke's FY16 export revenue touches Rs 143 cr

Goodricke Group Ltd, part of Camellia Plc of United Kingdom, registered export revenues of Rs 143 crore in 2015-16 from branded teas, a top company official said on Thursday.

Goodricke's CEO and MD A N Singh said that the company has taken a strategic shift towards branded
teas which give a steady flow of income although the returns are not high.

In 2014, 20 per cent of the revenues accrued from exports. Speaking to reporters after the company's AGM here, Singh said that in 2014, the company's exports stood at 4 million kilos. However, the figures are not comparable as this year's AGM is for a 15-month period.

The company saw 44 per cent growth in exports in volume terms last year. Crop output during 2015 was marginally lower due to severe drought, Singh added.
