Gondol Para Jute Mill opens after 4 months

 Gondol Para Jute Mill in Chandannagar was on Sunday reopened after it remained closed for past four months, following the intervention of the state Labour Minister Moloy Ghatak. The mill authorities have said that the production work will commence within next few days. 

More than hundred workers involved in maintenance work joined duty on Sunday. Around 5,000 workers, who were jobless, are expected to join their duty in next few days as the operations will begin at the jute mill. Workers and their family members have expressed their happiness after the mill was opened. On Saturday, Ghatak held meeting with the representatives of 11 unions and the mill owner.
