Going the Khadi way

Situated right at the heart of the city, Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, has organised a Khadi and Village Industries exhibition at Harijan Sevak Sangh, Kingsway Camp that started off on 16 October. The exhibition was inaugurated by B H Anil Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Khadi and Village Industries Commission amid a cultural programme organised on the occasion. Laxmi Das, former chairman, KVIC and Secretary, Harijan Sevak Sangh, Naresh Pal, Dy. Chief Executive officer (NZ) and other officials of the KVIC were also present.

Kumar viewed the products displayed at the exhibition with words of appreciation. SP Singh Director, Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan said, ‘There are total 75 stalls out of which 40 are allocated to the Khadi institutions and 35 for the village industries and PMEGP units. Participatants from various states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi have taken part in this show’.

All most all varieties of silk - mulbary, tassar, munga, andi, woolen shawls with Kashmiri embroidery, jackets, coats and large number of ready to wear garments in cotton, wool, silk and poly Khadi, wide range of herbal products including cosmetics, eatables etc are displayed at the show. The exhibition will be on till 31 December.
