Go MANGO all the way

If you are a mango lover with a huge sweet tooth, Piccadily’s By the Way, a delicatessen counter has a delightful array of treats stored in for you. This popular lounge exhibits a range of over 13 mango munchies. We tried an assorted platter of around eight of these treats which left a sweet and a bit of a sour after-taste in our mouths. What made this place stood out was the commendable incorporation of mangoes in the savoury dishes! The rest of the treats were quite innovative too.

We especially liked the Mango Almond Surprise Pastry which had a delicious top layer of slightly crisp and bitter caramel and the combination of mango dices, fresh mango cream and almond sponge slice which left us craving for more.

The Mango Chocolate Éclair quite surprised us with its interesting combination of fresh mangoes and chocolate cream. The deli has a variety of other delicious pastries for the aam aadmi which includes mango kwark cheese pastry, mango tiramisu, mango choux bun and the gluten-free mango chocolate roulade. The Executive Sous chef, Sanjeev Sharma said, ‘India is known for its mangoes and a lot of foreign guests come in especially to enjoy the mango season, so we came up with this idea to incorporate Alphonso and Saphera mangoes in our various dishes to make their visit more savoury and refreshing.’

A treat for two would cost around Rs.300 (exclusive of taxes). These dishes are surprisingly affordable which leaves you content with tingling tastebuds and a happy pocket!
