Glad to get some runs, says Amla

“Any hundred is a hundred. I am glad to get some runs,” said Amla, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his match-winning knock of 159, his 20th ODI century. With the help of Faf du Plesssis (109), Amla struck a 247-run partnership to post the ongoing World Cup’s highest total of 411/4 to earn a 201-run victory.

“Fortunately we got off to a good start, myself and Faf got going, and then I started to play some shots. We had wickets in hand so we could have a go. Thankfully, it came off. It was a good wicket and fortunately we got some runs. Always good to post a win,” he said. Amla also credited the bowlers for the win who bowled out Ireland for 210. “Our bowlers bowled exceptionally well,” added Amla.
