Girl found unconscious on NH

A girl of about 18-20 years of age was found unconscious on the national highway in Ghaziabad, early on Wednesday morning. Police suspect she was poisoned and dumped to die, but could not be certain of anything, as she is still unconscious.

‘A police control room  van spotted the girl at 5.35 am, lying on the divider of NH-24, on the outskirts of the city near Charan Singh village. She was immediately rushed to district hospital in Ghaziabad, from where she was referred to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital in Delhi,’ said Rajesh Dwivedi, Inspector of Vijay Nagar police station in Ghaziabad.

‘She seems to be of a middle class family, but did not have any identity proof with her,’ added Dwivedi. Her condition is stated to be serious and she is reportedly in intensive care unit (ICU).

‘We can’t confirm anything till she regains consciousness and is able to speak to us,’ added Dwivedi. Initial medical report has not confirmed rape and samples have been sent for further examination. The doctors in the team have mentioned ‘suspected poisioning’ and ‘no fresh injury’ mark on her body. The girl is still unidentified.
