Ghulam Ali to perform in Varanasi today

Pakistani Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali will perform at a six-day music festival here, which begins on Tuesday at the famous Sankat Mochan temple.

The Pakistani Ghazal singer has reached Varanasi and he will perform here, along with nearly 60 other renowned artistes, said Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, Mahant (head priest) of the Sankat Mochan temple. The Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh is being held for the past 70-90 years, he said, adding that musicians perform for free.

The other artistes who are scheduled to perform at the event are Anup Jalota, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Rajan and Sajan Mishra, L Subramaniam, Sonal Mansingh, Bhajan Sapori and Pandit Vishwamanth.
