Ghaziabad authority starts plantation drive for green city

The chairman of GDA, Santosh Kumar Yadav on Thursday inaugurated a drive to inaugurate plants in the city. On the first day of the drive approximately 10,000 plants were distributed free of cost to citizens.
'We have provided fruit-bearing and flowering plants at various petrol pumps, besides major parks and offices. Any citizen can get the sapling of his choice free of cost by giving his address,' said Yadav. The plantation drive was started at Central Park in Rajnagar on Thursday morning.

Other areas where the drive was started include Kaladham in Kavinagar, Nehru Stadium in Nehru Nagar, Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Rajendera Nagar, Shri Krishna Vatika in Vaishali, Ambedkar Park and Swarnjayanti Park in Indirapurm.

Saplings are also available for distribution here. Titled, Jan Jan Ropan, Vriksharopan (Plantation drive for everybody), the drive aims to ensure community participation and will continue till 15 August.
