Ggn court dismisses Dy Mayor’s bail plea

A city court on Wednesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea filed by the Gurgaon deputy mayor Parminder Kataria, who has been booked for rape on the pretext of marriage.

The hearing was held before additional sessions judge R P Goel on Monday morning. The anticipatory bail plea was filed by Shashi Bala and SS Rao, the lawyers of the deputy mayor on November 7. The final hearing was scheduled on Wednesday, where the plea was dismissed.

“After the dismissal of the anticipatory bail, the investigative team will step up its game and our main issue will be to nab the deputy mayor” said Deepak Sahar, DCP East, Gurgaon.

Deputy mayor Parminder Kataria has been absconding ever since he was booked for rape on the complaint filed by a 36-year-old woman. She claimed that Kataria sexually harassed her for about six months on the promise of marriage. The woman alleged that he had even promised to get her a job in the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon, the police official said.
