Ggn all set to celebrate Harayana Day today; security tightened

Gurgaon on Tuesday is all set commemorate the 50th anniversary of Haryana. 

The grand ceremony which will be held at Tau Devi Lal stadium in Sector 38 will see in presence Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other dignitaries of the state of Haryana. 

The BJP-led state government has been preparing for the event for several months. The grand event has seen personal intervention of Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar himself  along with various other senior ministers and bureaucrats.

There are also 5,000 police officials who have been deployed to look after the security arrangements.

With heavy security measures in place, the Gurgaon Police will block important routes along NH-8.  Alternative routes have been opened by the Gurgaon Police for the commuters and the residents. 

Rajiv Chowk area is an important point along the National Highway-8 which will be blocked by the Gurgaon Police from 2 pm onwards till the culmination of the event. Commuters who use the route of Subash Chowk mainly for going towards Golf Course road, Golf Course Extension Road will be directed towards Sohna Road for their way to Subash Chowk.

As the route for entry towards Medanta Medicity will be blocked from the National Highway-8 side, an alternate route for coming from Jharsa village through the Chottu Ram Chowk  will be opened by the Gurgaon Police.

Citing tough security measures may cause a bit of inconvenience for the state, a senior official from the Gurgaon Police stated: “There will be tough security measures which will be in place. As the 
grand event will see the Prime Minister, Chief Minister along with other important dignitaries of the state there will be a heavy police deployment along NH-8 and if required, there will also be checking of vehicles.”
