Germany assures Delhi govt of helping hand

In its endeavour to introduce the best available technology in the city though the Delhi Dialogue Commission, the Arvind Kejriwal government has received a helping hand from Germany, as a high level delegation assured him of cooperation in two sectors – renewable energy and skill
development.

A delegation headed by Germany’s ambassador to India, Michael Steiner on Thursday, called on the Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat. The ambassador was accompanied by the members of Bavarian State Parliamentary Committee led by Dr Fiorian Hermann. The 20-member delegation comprised the members of Parliament, representing four different political parties.

Kejriwal sought cooperation from the German delegation on renewable sources of energy and skill development in the national Capital for turning it into a world class city.

Kejriwal informed the delegation that the mandate for his government from the people of Delhi is largely on the basis of the performance of his previous 49-day government last year. He informed the delegation that eradication of corruption in the national Capital is one of the chief priorities his government. CM recalled the impact of the anti-corruption helpline launched by his government last time, which will be replicated this time too.

Kejriwal further said that his government will soon bring a strong anti-corruption legislation to ensure quicker and stern action against the bribe seekers.
