Germans break into Spanish armada!

Two big nights in European football has given a glimpse of change in power. If Barcelona’s 4-0 hammering on Tuesday at the hands of Bayern Munich was the beginning of a revolution in attitude, Real Madrid’s crushing defeat (1-4) against Boruusia Dortmund’s on Wednesday only reinforced the paradigm shift in European football. Buoyed by a noisy home crowd, Dortmund’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski became the first player to hit the Real net four times as the German powerhouse outplayed the famed Spanish giants in every department of the game. A 4-1 defeat virtually ended Jose Mourinho’s search for a third European title.

Real’s CL story remains the same as the last three years, a semifinal appearance in each without any further success. Last season they lost to Bayern after two close-fought clashes. Barcelona has been the best team at the world stage since winning the Euro in 2008. But their style of play is no more new and top European teams now come fully prepared. Same for Real.
