Geete lauds Bhel’s all-time best performance of FY16

Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises Minister Anant Geete reviewed the performance and the future readiness of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited during a visit to the company’s Corporate Office at Siri Fort here. Bhel CMD Atul Sobti and all Functional Directors on the Board of Bhel, welcomed the Minister.

Heavy Industry Secretary Girish Shankar, Dept of Industrial Policy & Promotion AS & FA S C Pandey, DHI Joint Secretary R K Singh and other senior officials of DHI and Bhel were also present on the occasion. 

The Minister was briefed on the performance trends of the company, its strengths in project execution, initiatives taken for enhancing competitiveness and building R&D capabilities.  Apart from the new initiatives and strategies for growth, the challenges being faced by the company in the prevailing subdued business environment were also explained.

Appreciating Bhel’s role as the pillar of India’s Heavy Electrical Equipment industry since its inception, the Minister commended the company’s leadership role on attaining an all-time high commissioning/synchronisation of 15,059 mw of power generating equipment during the last year.
