GDA launches drive to make its areas garbage-free

The authority had announced the move under its drive “Swacchh Indirapuram-Swasthya Indirapuram.  The authority said that under the drive, garbage, silt and other solid waste materials will be lifted from every nook and corner. 

The authority has also pressed additional equipment/resources into service and to impose fines if someone is found littering/insanitation.

“To make the region garbage-free, the authority had announced to carry out a clean mission and has started the same. The authority, under its plan, had decided to allocate Budget for mechanical sweeping and a waste collection-disposal project. The Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs) had also decided to join hands announcing to carry out the cleanliness drive,” said Vijay Kumar Yadav, GDA Vice-Chairman while participating in the cleanliness drive in Vaibhav Khand area.

The V-C also announced a WhatsApp number (9540212345) appealing people to upload pictures of garbage lying across the region. He urged people to participate in the drive by updating about unattended garbage/waste. 

“We have issued a separate number asking people to provide operation. Once we will start receiving complaints/information, we will take swift action,” added the V-C.
