Gas tanker overturns near Nabanna

A gas-tanker of Indian Oil turned turtle near State secretariat Nabanna on Saturday morning sparking tension in the area. The police informed that the speeding vehicle tried to take turn at the approaching road of the Second Hooghly Bridge, but lost its control.

The traffic police rushed there as the place of the mishap was close to Nabanna building. The fall out of the accident was even quicker. A huge traffic jam was seen there at the bridge during office time.

“The oil tanker was moving fast and it skidded while taking a turn at that spot. A horrible sound shook the area, as traffic police rushed in there,” said a traffic police officer.

Three fire tenders rushed to the spot, joined hands with police to move the vehicle from bridge as soon as possible.

Later, the engineers of the Indian Oil went there to inspect. No casualty was reported, as police informed.

However, the traffic had gone haywire there in the bridge during morning.
