Gardener killed after brawl in Fatehpur Beri

A gardener was killed while his co-worker was severely injured allegedly in a drunken brawl on late Monday night. Both were found unconscious at a farmhouse in South Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri area.

The incident came to light on early Tuesday morning when one of the worker spotted them lying in a pool of blood in the backyard of the farmhouse.

The worker who spotted them works in the adjacent building, which is a warehouse. He immediately informed the owner of the farmhouse who further made a call to the Police Control Room.

When a police van reached the spot, both of them were rushed to a hospital where Ganga (40) was declared brought dead and Ram Kumar (36) is undergoing treatment. Doctors told police that his condition is critical and that he has been kept in the intensive care unit.

“The prima facie circumstantial evidences suggest that the duo had consumed alcohol in the night and indulged in a scuffle. They attacked each other with beer bottles and other alcohol bottles,” the police officer privy to the investigation said.

A senior police official added that a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Fatehpur Beri police station.
