Ganga Mission: 764 polluting industries identified

In a step forward to clean River Ganga, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has identified 764 grossly polluting industries (GPIs) discharging industrial effluents and 56 class – I cities & 31 class - II towns discharging waste water into the river.
The CPCB comes under the Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Ministry, which is headed by Uma Bharti.
