Game of thrones: BJP rules out support to Manjhi

Addressing a Press Conference at the party headquarters, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, “There is no question of supporting Manjhi. It is up to the Governor to take the call.”

While taking a dig at former chief minister Nitish Kumar, he said, “The current political stalemate is the result of Kumar’s greed and hunger for power. BJP is always prepared for elections but there is no point discussing the issue at present.”

Replying to the charges of JD (U) who alleged that BJP is masterminding the rebellion in their party, he said, “Such false allegations suggest that JD (U) is so scared that they are even dreaming about BJP.”

“We think that Majhi is a more capable CM than Kumar. He was used by Nitish Kumar and not given any real power to prevent good governance in the state,” he added.

Meanwhile, Congress has also alleged that Manjhi was being controlled by the BJP. Party spokesperson PC Chacko said, “Manjhi is always working in BJP hands. The BJP is clearly controlling him. He is neither the leader of the legislative party of JD (U) nor he is a member of the JD (U)”.

Under the present crises, Governor can accept the advice of the Cabinet headed by Manji or ask him to prove his majority on the floor of the House.

BJP too involved in the game: Lalu prasad Yadav

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad on Monday dared BJP to “come clean” on support to Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in the current political imbroglio in the state. “I dare BJP to come clean on its support to Manjhi. It should tell clearly how far it will go with him. Hiding behind the curtain or staying behind the scene is not good,” he said. “Manjhi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi last evening and his tone changed after the meeting. It seems from his statements that BJP is involved in the political game that is happening,” Prasad said.

The RJD supremo was talking to reporters at his 10, Circular Road residence here after meeting Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi. He arrived from New Delhi this afternoon and gone to the Raj Bhawan with Nitish Kumar to express his support to JD(U). “We -- RJD and JD(U) -- have always supported dalits and mahadalits. This is the reason that Kumar chose Manjhi as the Chief Minister...,” he said.

Prasad said that in the current situation, Manjhi should also tell to which party he belongs, as JD(U) has expelled him.

He said his entire party was staunchly in support of Kumar, as he was the JD(U) Legislature Party leader.
