Gadkari’s PSO loses gun during meet

A 9 mm gun of the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Nitin Gadkari, who is the National President of Bhartiya Jana Party (BJP), was stolen on Sunday evening. The incident occurred while Nitin Gadkari was attending the Kisan Parliament at Mavlankar Hall in the capital.

Sources revealed that when the PSO came to know that his gun was missing, he had panicked and had alerted others as he was the security in charge of Gadkari. The matter was leaked to the public present at the Mavlankar hall who in turn panicked at the thought of a loaded gun loose among them.

'A case of theft of a 9 mm gun came to light when an unknown person informed us about the same. No FIR was made as yet. The gun was stolen at around 6.30 in the evening during the Kisan Parliament at Mavlankar Hall,' a senior police officer said.

The theft, right under the nose of Personal Security Officer of Nitin Gadkari, and in the presence of a crowd of people, is being termed as bold.

Although no untoward incident occurred, it is being alleged that an attack was possibly planned on Gadkari. Perhaps, the gun was stolen in order to prevent the PSO from attacking back. But the panic that prevailed in the hall once it was known that the gun was missing could have possibly deterred the attack.

The incident had triggered an impromptu Sunday evening conference among the senior police officers, despite Nitin Gadkari had not registered a formal complaint with the police.

On Sunday, Nitin Gadkari had also met with Jharkhand Chief Minister and party leader Arjun Munda who is recovering after being injured in a chopper accident.

Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren and Jharkhand BJP President Dineshanand Goswami went along with Gadkari to the Apollo Hospital.
