The Bharatiya Janata Party on its third day of the national council meeting attacked the government for subverting constitutional institutions in a bid to shield corruption.
The party also amended its constitution on Friday thus paving way for Nitin Gadkari to seek another term for the top post. BJP leader Rajnath Singh moved the resolution to amend Article 21 of the party constitution and the proposal was seconded by M Venkaiah Naidu. ‘This government is engaging in corruption and is then being brazen about it.
Have they got any inner conscience which is needed to continue in office? This is a government of, for and by the corrupt,’ said BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, who moved the political resolution of the party.
The BJP leader said that Manmohan Singh questioning institutions like CAG andPAC, is a dangerous trend for the democracy. ‘If institutions are finished in this manner it would endanger democracy, this is a dangerous trend, where are we headed?’ Joshi said.
