G M Rao receives crack AIMA Lifetime Contribution Award

GMR Group Chairman Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao received the Lifetime Contribution Award from Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu at the AIMA Managing India Awards 2015 in New Delhi.  

Accepting the award at a glittering function in the Capital, Rao said that one of the major factors that contribute to the success of a business leader is the ability to look at every business as a commercial asset without any emotional attachment.

“We continuously align, energise and motivate our top leadership team to take collective decisions on all the big-ticket items. We have invested in family biz governance which has brought in a lot of alignment and clarity,” he added.

Others who received awards on the occasion included Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd Founder-MD Dilip Shanghvi (Indian MNC of the Year), Reliance Foundation Founder-Chairperson Nita Ambani (Entrepreneur  of the Year), HDFC Bank MD Aditya Puri (Business Leader of the Year), Hyundai MD & CEO B S Seo (MNC in India of the Year), former Murugappa Group Chairman  M V Subbaiah (Outstanding Institution Builder) and screenwriter and film editor Rajkumar Hirani (Director of 
the Year).
