Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar has conveyed to Pakistan India's committment to resolve all issues within framework of Simla pact and Lahore Declaration if there was an environment free from terror and violence, during his trip to Islamabad two weeks back, government said on Thursday.

Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh, replying to a question, said Jaishankar, during talks with his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Chaudhary, also raised India's concern over cross-border terrorism and lack of progress in the 26/11 Mumbai attack case.

Jaishankar had visited Pakistan on March 3 as part of his "SAARC yatra" during which he held extensive talks with Chaudhary besides calling on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz.

Singh said Pakistan was called upon to maintain peace and tranquility along the International Border and respect the sanctity of the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The talks between the two Foreign Secretaries were held in a constructive and positive atmosphere. Government, will however, continue to monitor all activities that have a bearing on India's national security and on the safety and security of our people," the Minister said. The Lahore Declaration was signed after the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's summit meeting with Sharif in 1999 while Simla Agreement was signed between the two countries in 1972.
