Friends die on road during speed trials on bikes

Two youths died of severe injuries after their motorbike skid on a road near the Maharshi Valmiki Hospital in outer Delhi’s Bawana area on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Prakash Sharma (19) and Amit Kumar Rai (21). Both of them worked at a nearby factory and lived at a rented accommodation in Begumpur area. While Prakash belonged to Bihar, Amit belonged to a village in UP, said a police official.

According to the police, the incident was reported at around 9.30 pm. The duo had reportedly borrowed a motorbike that belong to their landlord’s son and went out for a <g data-gr-id="23">speed-ride</g>. 

They reportedly met with two accidents — one after another — within around 10 minutes. 

The duo took the first accident in a sporting manner and went for another speed <g data-gr-id="25">trial,</g> which ended within 10 minutes when the motorbike skid near Maharshi Valmiki <g data-gr-id="27">Hospital,</g> said a police official. 

He further said, <g data-gr-id="22">by-standers</g> rushed the duo to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
