Friends cast set for TV reunion

The “Friends” cast is reuniting on their old network next month for a two-hour special that pays tribute to veteran sitcom director James Burrows, who recently helmed his 1,000th TV episode.

NBC made the announcement at the Television Critics Association s press tour in Pasadena, California.

Burrows, who directed 15 Friends episodes as well as a number of other comedy favourites like Taxi, Cheers, Frasier and Will & Grace, recently wrapped the 1,000th episode of television he has filmed in his career, reported E!Online. The two-hour special show will be most notable for getting Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer all together for the first time since Friends ended in 2004. Previous efforts have been unsuccessful, with at least one cast member resisting a reunion behind the scenes. The special show is slated to be broadcast on February 21.
